I have been a people professional for over 35 years and during that time I have learned so much about human nature thanks to the wisdom of all those I worked with, all the great writers I have explored, and the life teachers that cross my path. I have been very blessed in many inspired way.
I want to share what I have learned about people and what we really want in our lives and tips to make those wants reality.
We want to be loved and give love. We have a heart (heart center) so we can love. The simple way to have lots of love is to keep our heart open and be loving, kind, and compassionate to all those that matter to us in life. We can even send love, be kind and have compassion for everyone we interact with. Our lives will be full of love the more we live in love.
We want the best for those we love. This is true for everyone on the planet no matter his or her beliefs or points of view. The best we can do to help enrich their lives is to be loving, kind, compassionate, encouraging, supportive, accepting, positive and help them where and when we can.
We want to feel purposeful, have meaning. You can find purpose and have meaning through family, work, creative expression, activism, volunteering, giving or other things that matter to you. The secret to finding your purpose or having a meaningful life is not secret at all. Just listen inward to what you heart and spirit/soul are calling you to do. If you feel open in your heart, alive and energized you are on the right track.
We want to have enough money to create the life we desire. Money is wonderful when it flows to make things happen in our lives. We can best open to the flow of money by giving what we have to offer that will enhance other people’s lives. If we love doing what we do and it has value for others, that is a great place to focus our energy.
We want to be happy. Happiness is a state of mind that becomes a feeling we enjoy. Happiness only happens when we are present. Happiness is a choice made by our thoughts. If we want to be happy choose it, be present, focus on what we appreciate, and do what we love.
We want to be okay with ourselves. Ok-ness comes from accepting who we are as fully and completely as we can. This means quieting the inner critic, it means appreciating our uniqueness, it means expressing and enjoying who we are. Remember we are divine poured into human form; we are spiritual beings having a human experience.
We want to have hope for better life. Real hope comes from being fully present in our lives. When we our in touch with all that is possible and potential within us we feel great hope. There is no limit to who we can become especially if we believe in our heart and our higher nature.
We want to have peace of mind. Peace of mind is made possible by the simple act of slowing our mind down through watching the cycle of our breath. There are many meditative and mindful practices we can do but none more direct and powerful than breathing with awareness. In this practice following the inhale, pause, exhale pause, inhale pause, exhale pause and in 5-10 minutes we are able to experience peace of mind.
