Heart to Heart, Mind to Mind, People to People

The world of hearts and minds shape all the human experience. If both hearts and minds are open, then there are infinite possibilities in the world. If we can communicate with each other with an open mind and open heart we can find all the solutions we need for a better world.

If the mind or heart closes down humanity is limited by that closing. If both minds and hearts close down we are in trouble as a society. All the problems of the world are caused from closed minds and the lost of compassion.

So what can you as an individual do for the good of all humanity? A great starting point is that you can re-open or keep open your heart and mind. Here are several practices that will assist you in making sure your mind and heart is open:

  1. Take time to tune into how you are feeling and what you are thinking. Some call this tuning in, mindfulness. As you tune in, you notice what thoughts you are having and what feelings those thoughts cause in you. If your thoughts are focused on judging and blaming, (which most of us do too well) you may think you have to protect yourself and close to others and their ideas. If your thoughts are on how can I understand and support others, your heart and mind must remain open. This ability to observe your inner processes creates higher consciousness and more compassion within you.
  2. The next practice is to watch how your body responds to the world around you. Most likely if you pay attention, you will notice your body is either opening or closing, expanding or contracting in all your interactions with the world around you. You may even notice that sometimes you are closing down to the people you love the most. Be careful not to judge any of this observing of who you are in relationship to the world you interact with. The judging mind wants to put everyone and everything into one of two categories - either “good” or “bad.” Most of our world is not really neither good nor bad. However this opportunity to see yourself brings much more self-awareness. With awareness you can make other choices; without awareness you are habit driven and out of touch. You can always choose to be open and experience the joys of a deeper connection to those you love and the world around you.
  3. Another way worth exploring is to deepen your connection with your soul. The soul is the part of you that is infinite and eternal. Your soul is where your higher mind resides; where you are able to connect with the highest consciousness on the planet; and where you are one with the Source of all creation. There is no limit to the soul’s capacity to heal, to know, to understand, to have compassion, and to love. This means you are equipped with these infinite capacities. You can love without limits, you can heal what needs to heal, you can expand your mind to include all the wisdom of the universe today. The relationship with your soul is the most powerful and rewarding relationship you can ever have.

These three ways of experiencing life are available for your exploration. You can live in the world with awareness and wisdom, with love and compassion if you so choose. You can starting now expanding your mind and heart and immediately become a positive force for a better world.

I assist those who are interested in exploring these three life-enhancing practices.
