About Joseph

I wanted to share with you where I come from, about my life journey and about what is important to me.

I grew up in the raining Pacific Northwest so my feet were developing webbing but I got out of there in time. I now live in Boulder and have a view of the beautiful mountains. I do very much miss Santa Barbara and walking along the ocean where I live for the previous 8-9 years.

I am a recovering Catholic with a negative reaction to guilt. I think a sense of humor is essential in today’s crazy world.

I have been fascinated by the human potential for most of my adult life. I have explored my own potential as an athlete, artist, writer, speaker, teacher, trainer, consultant and counselor.

I am a life long learner who enjoys adult education, reading, exploring and the adventures of life. I am a student of consciousness and human development. In 1983 I completed my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology.

I love playing ping-pong. I enjoy movement, keeping fit and flexible. I also love to cook and eat well. Desserts are a pleasure but stick to my waistline.

I am a social artist/activist who supports peace, consciousness, compassionate action and the exploration of our connection to each other. I think we are all much more similar then different. We all share dreams of an ideal life which varies but may include: peace, love, happiness and prosperity for ourselves and those we care about.

Each of us comes from less then perfect families and some of us have been very damaged but those are just stories in the present moment. We are all so much more then we have yet realized. There is in each of us the possibility to be an absolutely amazing human being. We spend too much time arguing for our limitations. Sure there are negative forces in the world but believe me the positive forces are much more powerful and more numerous.

Together we can make the world safe, compassionate, peaceful, and prosperous for all. We humans have yet to grow into our full conscious power. Maybe that is our next step in our evolution.

I believe there is much inspiration in us waiting to be explored. In each of us, in the cells that make us up, are collection of all human knowledge and the history of the universe. To say we don’t know is inaccurate. Our collective consciousness is unlimited in it’s wisdom. We always know what we need to do if we learn to listen to our inner guidance.

I see us all as spiritual beings having a human experience. Much of religion has lost spirit and instead is about power and control. If you want to be a sheep then there are many who are willing to guide you and control you. The ego in pursuit of power is a very dangerous problem for us humans. Just look at the White House for an example. War to me is always murder and about power.

Fear protects us and is used to control us. We are either loving, open, expansive, proactive or fearful, closed, contracting and reactive in our life situations. Love is the answer to all human problems. Resolving the world problems is not complicated. We need to listen with compassion, find our similarities / hopes / dreams, focus on meeting each others needs, be creative and have a sense of humor. That will take care of most of the human struggle.

So there is quick run through of who I am and what I think. I hope you found some kindred ideas?

I blog because I love to write and inspire.  My goal is to make my living blogging, working for peace and spreading consciousness.  Your ideas and support are greatly valued.

Please know that I have a tremendous respect for who you are and what you can become. I hope in some small way to encourage and inspire you onward toward the person you want to be and the life you want to live.
